The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo said that Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will have different ways to go through the story, new features, new characters, and Pokémon that haven’t been seen before. The games will only be available for the Nintendo Switch when they come out on November 18.

Your Treasure Hunt Will Tell Your Own Story
In Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, players go to a school that has a “Treasure Hunt”-themed independent study project. As the player travels through the huge area of Paldea, three stories will come together:
- Victory Road: To get to Champion Rank, players will go to Gyms in different places.
- Path of Legends: Arven, a student in the upper class, will help the player look for rare ingredients called Herba Mystica.
- Starfall Street: Players will go up against Team Star, a group of bad kids who are making trouble at school.
These stories take place in an open world full of Pokémon and people to meet, so players can choose their own path and explore in any way they want.
Let’s Go! A helpful feature for getting to know the Paldea area
In the great outdoors of Paldea, players can take one Pokémon with them on a walk. When players are out in the field exploring with a Pokémon, they can use the “Let’s Go!” feature to send that Pokémon in the direction they choose. The Pokémon the player sends out then picks up items on its own and can even fight nearby Pokémon in Auto Battles.
More Pokémon Have Been Shown
There will be new regional Pokémon in both Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, but depending on which game the player buys, different species of Pokémon will show up. You can meet Armarouge in Pokémon Scarlet, and you can meet Ceruledge in Pokémon Violet.
