Nintendo has unveiled a slew of additional features for the Nintendo Switch later this year! You may catch up on everything below;
There are so many options for Nintendo Switch gamers in 2022 and beyond! Nintendo unveiled a broad schedule of new games and content for the Nintendo Switch system throughout this year in the latest Nintendo Direct video presentation. Nintendo also revealed fresh information on previously announced titles, including when they would be available.
Highlight of February 2022 Nintendo Direct
Xenoblade Chronicles 3; Nintendo Switch Sports, which is a new rendition of the Wii Sports series with online play; Mario Strikers: Battle League; and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes were among the titles presented at the Nintendo Direct. There was also news about the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass, which includes the addition of 48 remastered courses from across the Mario Kart series to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which can be accessed for free with a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass membership or as paid downloadable content. In addition, information on the next wave of Splatoon 3’s co-op feature Salmon Run were revealed, as well as the game’s summer launch timeframe. EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings, two legendary RPGs, are also coming to Nintendo Switch Online… later today!
In addition, many games from Nintendo’s global publishing and development partners were highlighted during the presentation, including MLB The Show 22 on Nintendo Switch, two reality-warping puzzle-platform games in the Portal: Companion Collection, and the high-octane, free-to-play Disney and Pixar combat racer Disney Speedstorm. The presentation also included remakes and remasters of iconic SQUARE ENIX games such CHRONO CROSS: THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION, FRONT MISSION 1st: Remake and FRONT MISSION 2: Remake, as well as LIVE A LIVE!, which was released for the first time outside of Japan.
“Based on our stated launch timetable for 2022, Nintendo Switch users can expect a practically back-to-back roster of franchises featuring known names, beloved favorites, and unique originals,” Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser said. “We hope that this lineup of games from Nintendo and its development and publishing partners brings smiles to the faces of everyone who has or is thinking about purchasing a Nintendo Switch device.”
Swing, kick, and spike your way to victory with a variety of sports that puts you right in the middle of the action! In the latest incarnation of the famous Wii Sports franchise, play with family and friends in person or online, or challenge friendly rivals near and far. Compete in six sports, including soccer, volleyball, bowling, tennis, Badminton, and Chambara, by converting your real-world activities into in-game motions using Joy-Con controllers (swordplay). In a Soccer Shoot-Out, you can even use a Joy-Con with the Leg Strap attachment included in the physical edition to kick the ball! In addition, a seventh sport will be included as part of a free update this autumn – get ready for Golf! When Nintendo Switch Sports debuts on April 29, get active and into the game! Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
A total of 48 remastered courses from the Mario Kart series will be available as paid downloadable content for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe! By the end of 2023, eight courses will be published in six waves, each of which may be played locally or online. With a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, you can get the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass for free, or you can buy it separately for $24.99. The initial wave will contain courses such as Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain, and Tour Tokyo Blur. On March 18, the first wave of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass will be released. The DLC is now available for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the third installment in the critically acclaimed RPG series by MONOLITHSOFT. In the midst of conflict between the antagonistic countries of Keves and Agnus, players will assume the roles of protagonists Noah and Mio. Six protagonists from six countries will take part in a big story centered on the concept of “life.” Explore a new universe that connects the futures of both Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which will be released in September 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
Prepare for Strike, a five-on-five soccer-like game with no restrictions — do whatever it takes to win!
Mario Strikers: Battle League:
You may tackle, utilize equipment, and trigger special shots in this game. On a single Nintendo Switch system, up to eight players – four from each side – may battle against each other. In addition to individual matches, online play will allow 20 players to join and compete for the title of best club in the world. In this sport, the most important rule is to control the field! MLB The Show 22
The MLB The Show series is coming to Nintendo Switch for the first time! At home or on the road, players may enjoy fan-favorite RPG modes including Road to the Show and online card-collecting game Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show 22. With cross-platform play and cross-progression, you may continue your progress and earn and utilize stuff on other console systems where MLB is available. Show 22 is now available. THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION OF CHRONO CROSS:
The popular RPG CHRONO CROSS is getting a remaster for the Nintendo Switch! This RPG classic has received a lot of improvements, including the option to turn off enemy encounters and a freshly tuned music. RADICAL DREAMERS is also included! In this text-based adventure, learn about the beginnings of CHRONO CROSS. When CHRONO CROSS: THE RADICAL DREAMERS EDITION launches on Nintendo Switch on April 7, two worlds collide. Companion Collection for Portal
The Portal Gun is your key to survive confinement in a mystery lab in Valve Software’s award-winning titles Portal and Portal 2. Create portals and warp to distant locations in the hopes of finding… cake? You, as well as cubes, lasers, and robots with unsettling degrees of personality, may travel through portals. Kirby’s look will alter and he will become even more powerful if he develops his copy abilities at Waddle Dee’s Weapons Shop in Waddle Dee Town. Will Kirby be able to save the Waddle Dees and bring peace to this strange world? On March 25, Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be released on Nintendo Switch.
Prepare for a high-octane Disney and Pixar battle racer in Disney Speedstorm! Rip-roaring racing action with a renowned array of characters and high-speed Disney and Pixar-inspired racetracks from the developers of the Asphalt series. Disney Speedstorm is a free-to-play game with new seasons released on a regular basis, introducing new Disney and Pixar characters, circuits, and karts to the game. Also included are cross-platform play, split-screen, and online multiplayer options. This summer, Disney Speedstorm will be available on Nintendo Switch.
No Man’s Sky:
Travel across an endless universe where every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by life-filled planets, and you may visit any of them! Build whatever you want, from little outposts to multi-planet empires. Recruit friends, scavenge for supplies, and battle to stay alive. Discover new areas, animals, and more in this limitless, procedurally created cosmos. This summer, No Man’s Sky will be released for Nintendo Switch.
EarthBound / Earthbound Beginnings
In the fan-favorite Super NES classic EarthBound, join Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo on their mission to fulfill an age-old prophesy and defeat the evil Giygas (and maybe catch a Runaway Five concert along the way). Also available is EarthBound Beginnings, a translated version of the original Famicom Mother game set in the year 198X. EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings will be available on Nintendo Switch Online today!
Metroid Dread update
Metroid Dread is getting a free update today! In the harsh Dread Mode setting, even one hit results in a game over. If you’re new to the Metroid franchise, the newly introduced Rookie Mode difficulty will help you recover faster. In April, a free update will bring a Boss Rush mode, in which you’ll fight monsters one by one in a continuous battle.
Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp:
New information from the frontlines has arrived! Through two wild and entertaining Campaigns, advise a famous cast of Commanding Officers, now voiced. You’ll come across a variety of characters and geography, all of which will force you to devise fighting tactics. Aside from the campaigns in Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, players may compete in the War Room for top scores, develop and share custom maps in the Design Room, and combat friends and foes in Local and Online Multiplayer. For April 8, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will be released on Nintendo Switch.
STAR WARS: The Force Unleashed:
In this classic Star Wars action-adventure, unleash the might of the Force. As Darth Vader’s Secret Apprentice, you’ll hunt down Jedi Masters on recognizable worlds using lethal Force abilities and lightsaber combinations. Use button controls or motion controls, which have been improved over the Wii’s original edition. Cuphead – The Delicious Last Course:
In the paid DLC Cuphead – The Delicious Last Course, you’ll get another serving of Cuphead action! Cuphead and Mugman are joined this time by Ms. Chalice for a wild adventure in which you’ll explore the new Inkwell Isle and employ Ms. Chalice’s new moves including double leaps and rolling dodges. You may read these stories in whatever sequence you like; the journey is entirely up to you. When LIVE A LIVE debuts for Nintendo Switch on July 22, you’ll embark on a voyage of discovery. TRIANGLE STRATEGY
The tactical RPG TRIANGLE STRATEGY is soon here, and a new demo that allows you to play from Chapter 1 to Chapter 3 is now available in the Nintendo eShop. Once bought, save data from the demo may be transferred to the full game. Serenoa and his supporters will get entangled in the struggle between the three countries. When TRIANGLE STRATEGY debuts on Nintendo Switch on March 4, your decisions and convictions will influence their destiny.
FRONT MISSION 1 / FRONT MISSION 2Â
The original FRONT MISSION game is getting a complete makeover for Nintendo Switch! You’ll operate armed robots known as Wanzers and lead your unit to victory in this tactical RPG. Gain the upper hand in combat by aiming for opponent components to destroy, and learn more about this classic game’s fantastic plot. KLONOA Phantasy Reveries series:
Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil and Klonoa: Door to Phantomile are coming to Nintendo Switch! Using the environment to your advantage, run, leap, and hover while shooting Wind Bullets to catch and fling foes through dreamlike side-scrolling stages. For July 8, the KLONOA Phantasy Reverie Series will be released on Nintendo Switch, allowing you to go on fantastic adventures.

Three KINGDOM HEARTS collections are coming to Nintendo Switch as cloud versions that may be played while connected to the internet, ranging from the original KINGDOM HEARTS through KINGDOM HEARTS III and the + Re MIND (DLC). Relive beloved memories from past playthroughs or discover these heartfelt experiences for the first time on Nintendo Switch with Sora, Donald, and Goofy.
