Nintendo Direct September 2022 recap

During the Nintendo Direct video show, Nintendo announced a lot of new games for the Nintendo Switch system that will come out this year and next.

Nintendo Direct September 2022 highlights

During the presentation, the official name and release date for the follow-up to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were announced. There was also a mysterious new trailer with new gameplay set above the clouds. Link’s never-ending journey starts all over again on May 12, 2023, when The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom comes out for the Nintendo Switch.

Other highlights of the Nintendo Direct were the announcements of Pikmin 4, the next game in the cute and strategic Pikmin series, which will be coming out in 2023; OCTOPATH TRAVELER II from SQUARE ENIX, a sequel to the acclaimed HD-2D RPG, which will be coming out on Feb. 24, 2023; the debut of Fire Emblem Engage, the next game in the long-running Fire Emblem series, which will be coming out on Jan. 20, 2023

Many fan-favorite games will also be coming back to Nintendo Switch, including a remaster of the classic action-RPG Tales of Symphonia from BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment and cloud versions of four scary-but-fun Resident Evil games from CAPCOM. In the future, a new lineup of Nintendo 64 games, including games from the Mario Party and Pokémon Stadium series as well as Pilotwings 64, Excitebike 64, 10 Commandos, and 10 Commandos, will be And GoldenEye 007 is back, the game that kept a lot of Nintendo 64 parties going late into the night.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The latest game in the long-running Legend of Zelda series. Along with the vast lands of Hyrule, it takes you up into the sky and into a bigger world than before. When The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, comes out on Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023, Link’s huge adventure will start up again.

Pikmin 4

The first look at the next game in the Pikmin series showed a peaceful park and a sleeping Bulborb, but one important thing was still missing: Pikmin! Where were they? A lot more will be known about this new Nintendo Switch game before it comes out in 2023.

Fire Emblem Engage

In the game Fire Emblem Engage, four kingdoms and heroes from other worlds fought together against the Fell Dragon. After 1000 years, this seal has become weaker, and the Fell Dragon is about to wake up again. As a Divine Dragon, your destiny is to collect the Emblem Rings that are spread out all over the world and bring peace back to the Continent of Elyos. In this new story, you can call on legendary heroes from past Fire Emblem games, like Marth and Celica, and fight with them. Their power will add to your own. The turn-based, tactical battle system that the Fire Emblem series is known for is back with a new cast of characters you can customize and “Engage” with to carefully plan your strategy. Fire Emblem Engage launches for Nintendo Switch on Jan. 20, 2023, alongside Fire Emblem Engage: Divine Edition featuring a steelbook case and art book. You can now pre-order the game in the Nintendo eShop.

Just Dance 2023 Edition

Get ready to find out what a party that never ends is like! With new modes, customization, 3D worlds that pull you in, and new songs, you can now dance all year long. And for the first time, you can dance to “Dynamite” and other new songs by South Korean boy band BTS, which has broken a lot of records. Local play and online multiplayer with cross-play let you play with up to five friends. You can make private groups, choose your favorite songs, and discover a new era of dance. On Nov. 22, Just Dance 2023 Edition comes out for Nintendo Switch.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER II

The second book in the OCTOPATH TRAVELER series is called OCTOPATH TRAVELER II. The HD-2D graphics in OCTOPATH TRAVELER II, which are a mix of retro pixel art and 3D CG, are even better than in the first game. In the world of Solistia, eight new travelers set out into an exciting new era. Where do you want to go? What will you do? Whose story will you make real? You can go in any direction. When OCTOPATH TRAVELER II comes out for Nintendo Switch on February 24, 2023, you can start your own adventure.

Fae Farm

Fae Farm is a farm simulation role-playing game (RPG) for 1–4 players that lets you live the fairytale life of your dreams. Craft, grow, and decorate your shared farm with up to three friends, and use spells to explore the magical island of Azoria. You’ll make new friends with the people who live there, learn about fae magic, and travel through strange realms. And as the seasons change, you’ll use everything you’ve learned and found to fix the world around you. Fae Farm will only be available on Nintendo Switch when it comes out in spring 2023.

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe

The return of the hero puffball’s Wii game, but this time it’s bigger and better. A strange spaceship crashes on Planet Popstar one day. Kirby and his friends set out on an exciting quest to help the mysterious Magolor. Kirby will be able to use a wide range of Copy Abilities when he eats certain enemies. The new Mecha Copy Ability will also make its debut. Up to four people can play the game at the same time on the same system by sharing Joy-Con controllers. Plus, everyone can play as Kirby and use their favorite Copy Abilities at the same time. There are also a bunch of minigames to play, like Samurai Kirby and Magolor’s Tome Trackers, which are both new and old. On February 24, 2023, the Nintendo Switch will get the game Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe. The Nintendo eShop and the My Nintendo Store on Nintendo.com will start taking pre-orders today.

More Nintendo 64 games are coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack

If you are a member of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, you can play a selection of Nintendo 64 games and get access to classic SEGA Genesis, NES, and Super NES games, as well as DLC for some Nintendo Switch games. In addition to the classic games already in the Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online collection, the following games will be added over time: Pilotwings 64, Mario Party, and Mario Party 2 will be added in 2022, followed by Mario Party 3, Pokémon Stadium, Pokémon Stadium 2, 1080° Snowboarding, and Excitebike 64 in 2023. Plus, you’ll soon be able to play the classic first-person shooter GoldenEye 007 with other people online for the very first time on Nintendo 64 – Nintendo Switch Online. Keep an eye out for future information about launch dates.

It Takes Two 

A co-op platforming adventure that lets you team up with a friend and work together. Explore worlds that are out of this world and full of challenges around every corner. The game can be played on a single system or on two systems at the same time using local wireless or online with a friend using the free Friend’s Pass. With someone by your side, you can get through anything. It Takes Two comes out on Nov. 4 for the Nintendo Switch. Rune Factory 3 Special

When Rune Factory 3 comes back to life on Nintendo Switch, try to make peace between humans and monsters. You can take a break from quests to talk to locals, grow crops, and take care of monsters, among other things. You can also change into a monster, which changes your abilities in battle and how you talk to people in the area. Different things will also happen based on what you choose. There’s also a new mode that lets you spend more time with your in-game spouse. The Nintendo Switch will get Rune Factory 3 Special next year. Also, in the future, a new Rune Factory series will start. Stay tuned for more details.

A New Splatfest is Coming to Splatoon 3

The first Splatfest for Splatoon 3 after it came out has been set! What would you bring with you to a deserted island? Gear? Grub? Or fun? This Splatfest will start on September 23 at 5:00 p.m. PT until 5 p.m. on September 25. PT. Which side are you on?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass Wave 3

Wave 3 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass DLC adds more courses to the game this holiday season. Wave 3 will have eight tracks, including Merry Mountain and Peach Gardens from Mario Kart Tour and Mario Kart DS, respectively. You can buy the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass on its own in the Nintendo eShop, or you can get it for free if you pay for a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

In this 2D adventure, a young girl goes to an art gallery. She walks around a busy art show until one piece catches her eye. Every choice you make affects her future, and there are seven different endings you can reach depending on what you do. Will she be able to get back to her own world without getting hurt? TUNIC

This isometric action-adventure game is about a small fox who goes on a big journey. You are stuck on a broken land, and the only clue you have is the in-game manual. Explore the island’s connected worlds to find the missing pages, which are full of hints and original, full-color drawings. What secrets from the past will the island show? On September 27, TUNIC comes out for Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo eShop and the My Nintendo Store on Nintendo.com will start taking pre-orders today.

CRISIS CORE – FINAL FANTASY VII – REUNION

In the exciting action-RPG CRISIS CORE – FINAL FANTASY VII – REUNION, you can see what happened before FINAL FANTASY VII. Zack Fair is a young SOLDIER operative with big dreams of becoming a hero. He looks into strange disappearances in his elite unit with the help of Sephiroth and Cloud. This remaster has better HD graphics, a new combat system, and new music arrangements for the soundtrack. Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core: Reunion comes out on Nintendo Switch on December 13.

Radiant Silvergun

Radiant Silvergun, a classic arcade shoot-em-up, is coming to Nintendo Switch. Use a variety of weapons to kill waves of enemies. If you kill enemies of the same color in a row, you get a chain bonus. If you kill enemies of different colors, you get a secret bonus. Radiant Silvergun comes out for Nintendo Switch… later today!

Bayonetta 3

Umbra Witch Bayonetta has to stop a sudden invasion of Homunculi, which are bioweapons made by humans. Throughout the Bayonetta series, she has fought for herself, for others, and for the whole world. Now, Bayonetta has to work with people who have gotten past their own problems, like the journalist Luka and another Umbra Witch named Jeanne. Viola, a new witch who is learning to be sassy, also joins in the fun. Bayonetta 3, which comes out on Nintendo Switch on Oct. 28, will take you on a scary, demon-summoning, world-hopping adventure. On Nintendo’s YouTube channel, you can now also watch a huge new trailer for the game.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass DLC Vol. 2

The next part of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass will make your trip through Aionios even better. The new Hero is a girl named Ino who looks… mechanical! When you finish her quest, she’ll join your party, giving you more classes and ways to play. There will also be battles that are a challenge. Fight tough enemies over and over again to see how strong you are. You can get accessories and special outfits by taking on enemies that get stronger as you go. Wave 2 of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass comes out on October 13. The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass, which has four volumes and will be released until the end of 2023, is now for sale in the Nintendo eShop.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope

In Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, Mario and the Rabbids are about to go on a galactic-scale space adventure. Explore colorful worlds, find secrets, save Sparks, and save the galaxy in exciting tactical battles. You can freely move through all kinds of wonderful worlds, each of which is full of things to find. You can hire up to 30 different Sparks, each of which has its own unique skills and powers. They can be the “ignition” of a decisive victory! Can Mario and the Rabbids stop the Darkmess from happening? On October 20, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope comes out for the Nintendo Switch. Tales of Symphonia Remastered

A remaster of the well-known classic game Tales of Symphonia, with better graphics and gameplay. It will be available for Nintendo Switch. Desians are shadowy forces that rule the world of Sylvarant. A person known as the Chosen One must climb the Tower of Salvation to stop them. In this classic action-RPG, Lloyd will soon go on a journey with Colette, the current Chosen One and his best friend from childhood. The future of two worlds that are linked is up in the air. In the local co-op mode, you can play with up to three friends and fight powerful enemies in real time. Combine hundreds of magic spells and special attacks. Early in 2023, Tales of Symphonia Remastered will start its journey on the Nintendo Switch.

HARVESTELLA

In the village of Lethe, you work on your farm in peace, but the season of death keeps coming back and threatening to destroy everything. In this life-simulation RPG, you travel the world and try to find a way to stop the disaster. Later today, a demo with the first few days of the first season on your farm will be available in the Nintendo eShop and the My Nintendo Store on Nintendo.com! Also, once you buy the full game, you can move your saved data from the demo to the full game. On November 4, HARVESTELLA comes out for Nintendo Switch.

Second Free Update for Mario Strikers: Battle League

This month, the Mario Strikers: Battle League game is getting a second free update. Pauline, a big, strong player who moves quickly and makes strong tackles, is joining the team. Diddy Kong also barrels onto the field as a midfield speedster with dazzling moves and great pass accuracy. Plus, there will be more gear, a new stadium, a Striker Ranking that is based on skill points, customization options for fans in the crowd, and options for splashy match celebration effects. With these new additions, you can get tough and take on the world.

Golf will be the next free update for Nintendo Switch Sports

Hit the fairway on 21 holes from the Wii Sports series and tee off with friends in local play. In the new online Survival Golf, you can play golf with up to eight other people at the same time. During each round, the person who takes the most strokes is out. This free update will come out during the holiday.

THEATRHYTHM FINAL BAR LINE

The FINAL FANTASY series is 35 years old, and the newest THEATRHYTHM game is a way to celebrate. This rhythm action game has a total of 385 tracks, including well-known FINAL FANTASY songs like “One-Winged Angel,” “Torn From the Heavens,” and “SUTEKI DA NE.” More content will be added after the game comes out. In Pair Play, two players can finish stages together, and in Online Multi-Battle, up to four players can fight to the end! THEATRHYTHM FINAL BAR LINE’s symphony starts on the Nintendo Switch on February 16, 2023. The Nintendo eShop and the My Nintendo Store on Nintendo.com will start taking pre-orders today. After the game comes out, there will be 90 paid DLC songs from the SaGa series, the NieR series, OCTOPATH TRAVELER, LIVE A LIVE, and more. Also, there will be editions with a season pass and 27 extra songs, such as “Melodies of Life Final Fantasy” from FINAL FANTASY IX.

Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key

Ryza and her friends set sail to find out more about the strange islands that have appeared around the world. Your adventure will take place in a large area. In this fun RPG, you can roam around this huge world and make your own way. Eleven heroes from many different backgrounds will join your group. On February 24, 2023, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key comes out for the Nintendo Switch.

STORY OF SEASONS: A WONDERFUL LIFE

“A Wonderful Life,” a beloved farming experience comes back to life after almost 20 years. In Forgotten Valley, you will rebuild and grow your farm by taking care of your crops and animals and helping the land grow. If you make friends with the people in your town, you might even meet your future spouse and start a family. In this part, as time goes on, the people around you will get older. Your child will also decide what to do with their life based on how you raise them. When STORY OF SEASONS: A Wonderful Life comes out for Nintendo Switch in the summer of 2023, you can look forward to a wonderful farm life in Forgotten Valley.

Resident Evil Village Cloud

Sleep while you can, because she will come after you. The latest game in the Resident Evil series is coming to Nintendo Switch. To save his kidnapped daughter, Ethan Winters must face the horrors of the village and its four scary lords. On Oct. 28, Resident Evil Village Cloud comes out for Nintendo Switch. Later today, you can try out the free demo and pre-order the game from the Nintendo eShop and the My Nintendo Store on Nintendo.com. The Winters’ Expansion DLC will come out on Dec. 2 with a new third-person mode, more story content, and more. Also, the cloud versions of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 will be available on Nintendo Switch this year.

Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE

A dark fantasy mystery from the people who made Danganronpa. It is about a detective who has lost his memory and the ghost that haunts him. As Yuma, a trainee at the Detective agency, you can try to solve unsolved cases. Check each crime scene carefully to find clues and proof. When you’re ready, the spirit Shinigami will make a Mystery Labyrinth that links the crime scene to the truth. Mystery Phantoms will try to stop you from getting further in each case. Stay away from their lies and cut through their contradictions. Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE will be available for the first time on the Nintendo Switch system in the spring of 2023.

DAY TO DAY LIFE

In this immersive RPG, you can live your best life on the newly discovered continent of Antoecia. You’ll live your best life and face the unknown by combining familiar adventure-RPG and simulation-RPG elements, like getting better at your job, exploring strategically, and a new way to fight. Doing more than 100 different types of daily tasks will help you build your character and get closer to the locals. This will give you access to different job classes and skills. A big adventure is waiting! The Nintendo Switch version of VARIOUS DAYLIFE comes out later today.

Sifu

In this Kung Fu action brawler, beat your enemies to get revenge for your father. By thrusting, tripping, and parrying, you can break your opponent’s position and get the upper hand. If you lose a fight, you will get older and weaker. But you will learn new ways to help you finish your mission. Can you get even before you run out of time? FATAL FRAME: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse:

After mysteriously disappearing as a child, Ruka Minazuki, now a teenager, goes to an abandoned hospital to find the memories she lost. In this survival game, you can use the Camera Obscura to scare away bad spirits and find memories that were hidden away. Forbidden memories will be restored. FATAL FRAME: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse comes out for the first time in the West in early 2023 on Nintendo Switch.

Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star

Lets you box with characters from the popular manga and anime series Fist of the North Star. In Exercise Mode, characters like Kenshiro will be your coaches and lead you through different boxing drills. In the new Battle Mode, you can fight as many enemies as you can with just your fists. You can also fight bosses. In March 2023, the Nintendo Switch will be able to play Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake

Nautical nonsense starts when SpongeBob and Patrick make a wish that rips the universe apart. In this 3D platforming adventure, you can go through portals to seven strange Wishworlds, like the Prehistoric Kelp Forest and the Wild West Jellyfish Fields. Explore using all kinds of crazy moves, put on over 30 F.U.N.tastic cosmic costumes, and meet your favorite Bikini Bottom residents from the TV show, all of whom are voiced by their original actors. When it comes out on Nintendo Switch next year, SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a game you’ll want to soak up.

OddBallers

A hilarious and hard-hitting party game where you throw anything you can at your opponents. Enjoy the ridiculousness of fast-paced minigames with silly rules and crazy arenas. You can change everything about your character, from the head down. Plus, you can play with up to six friends in person or online. They won’t even realize what’s going on. OddBallers comes out early next year for Nintendo Switch.

Factorio

You crash-land on a strange planet because something went wrong. In this management simulation game, you start from scratch to build a new rocket. Find materials on the planet and build machines to turn them into different resources. Eventually, you’ll construct multiple production lines. But the creatures on the planet will try to hurt you, so keep them away. Join up with other players in cooperative cross-platform multiplayer to work together and give each other tasks. On Oct. 28, Factorio comes out for Nintendo Switch.

ENDLESS Dungeon

A rogue-lite game set in the ENDLESS universe. You have to find a group of shipwrecked heroes and lead them out of a broken-down space station. As you move through levels that are generated by a set of rules, you’ll have to fight off waves of monsters. When you finish quests, you can get access to new heroes, weapons, and station areas. In online co-op, up to three people can try to escape their grim fate at the same time. Next year, ENDLESS Dungeon will be available on the Nintendo Switch.

FRONT MISSION 1st: Remake and FRONT MISSION 2: Remake:

In FRONT MISSION 1st: Remake, you control giant machines called Wanzers in tactical turn-based battles. As you get better, you’ll learn Skills that can help you beat your opponents. FRONT MISSION 2: Remake is the sequel that has never been available outside of Japan. Use new features like more terrain effects, attributes for weapons and armor, and over 80 new skills. You can also show off your skills at the Colosseum and use the Network system to find out what’s going on as it happens. FRONT MISSION 1st: Remake comes out in November for Nintendo Switch, and FRONT MISSION 2: Remake will come out in 2019. Also, a new version of FRONT MISSION 3 is being made.
