Nintendo Switch now supports Wireless Headphones

The recently released firmware update (4.0) for the Nintendo Switch included an additional feature, which was not mentioned by Nintendo. It is now possible to use your cordless headphones.

Buuuuut wait there is a but

Unfortunately, it is not possible to use wireless headphones directly through Bluetooth, it can only be done through USB. You must therefore use a USB dongle if your headset uses one. If not then you need an additional piece of hardware that connects the Switch to the headphones

One of our editors has already used a Bluetooth transmitter that connects to the headphone port and connects with Bluetooth. Unfortunately, this situation is not ideal, but it does not change too much with this update.

It would be nice if Nintendo released Bluetooth for audio devices in a future update. We understand the choice why they did not do it, of course, it also drains batteries when you are on the go if you use Bluetooth. But we think that this choice should be something the enduser decides, if he /she wants to use Bluetooth or not.

Easy said; Every type of appliance nearly has Bluetooth nowadays  (coffee makers with Bluetooth anyone?) so why could a Nintendo Switch not support a relatively simple A2DP Bluetooth protocol?

Come on Nintendo let’s disconnect the cables and other restrictions in this regard!
