About Pokemon Snap

Have you ever wanted to see Pikachu in its natural habitat? In Pokémon Snap, you take pictures of Pokémon you find in the wild instead of using a Poké Ball.

Some pictures are easy to take, like one of Pikachu relaxing on the beach. Others, like one of Pikachu riding on the back of a rare flying Pokémon, are much harder. Professor Oak, the most famous Pokémon professor in the world, has given you a task to do in Pokémon Snap. He needs a lot of pictures taken on Pokémon Island, where you’ll have to go through six interesting places to find all the Pokémon.

On the Beach, Pidgey will fly over your shoulder. In the Tunnel, Diglett will show up. In the Volcano, a group of Charmander will pass by. And that’s just the first three places! Wait until you see how many active Pokémon there are in the River, the Cave, and the Valley. When you go back to Professor Oak’s lab, he’ll give you a score based on a number of factors, such as: Did you get a great picture of the Pokémon? Does the size of the picture fit in the frame? Is it in the middle of the shot? And have you taken pictures of more of the same kind of Pokémon in the background?

Taking pictures on Pokémon Island is a lot of fun, but it’s also a real test of your photography skills. You still have to catch them all, but this time you’ll need a sharp eye and a fast camera.
