Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said the company has no plans to drop the price of the Nintendo Switch, as the company wants to sell the Nintendo Switch family of systems at their current prices “as long as possible”.

Concerning profitability, Furukawa says the company does not anticipate any way to reduce their manufacturing costs for the Nintendo Switch hardware in the near future. Nintendo will continue to work on selling as many Nintendo Switch systems as possible.

That last bit keeps the door open quite a bit, because that is how the business market works; supply and demand. Supply and demand are economic are the economic forces of the free market that control what suppliers are willing to produce and what consumers are willing and able to purchase.

Nintendo would be foolish to not look at what happens in the market in the upcoming years and ”change course” even price-wise when needed.
