The beautiful Okami has received its second Guinness World Record. Yes a videogame can receive world records!
World Record game?
The first world record was awarded in 2010 for the game being the ‘Least commercially successful winner of a Game of the Year award’. Yeah Okami is a cult hit that was not that commercially renowned but regardless was able to win Game of the Year. That in itself is a testimony of how great a title it is.
But the latest Guiness World record is slightly more encouraging as the game has received the award for the ‘Most critically acclaimed video game starring an animal character’.
Once again a record noting how good the game is because keep in mind we have seen a whole lot of animal characters in videogames and even starring in videogames right? Let’s just name a quick few in; Banjo, Kazooie, Conker, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, Yoshi, Sonic, Bubsy, Crash Bandicoot, Croc, Mickey Mouse and we probably could go one quite some time.
Taking that in consideration Okami must be something special … and it is. If you have not tried this game before do so on the Nintendo Switch now with Okami HD which released a short while back.
