Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – Breeding detailed

Breeding is back in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, but things are a little bit different in the latest games. As part of the latest leaks about the games, new information has come to light.

There aren’t many story spoilers here, but keep in mind that we will talk about some details that some people might rather find out on their own.

How to breed in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet

We’re now hearing that Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet can be bred, which makes picnics a lot like portable day cares. Players can start a picnic and have two compatible Pokemon in their party. The good news is that the usual rules for breeding apply, so you should walk around in the picnic. Then at some point, an Egg will show up in the basket. You can spend the time making a sandwich.

The process sounds pretty simple, but we don’t know what will happen if you have more than two Pokemon that are compatible. Also, we’ve heard that the other parts of breeding, like passing down Poke Balls and using the Masuda method, should still work as usual.

Breeding has been a part of the Pokemon games since it’s earliest days. Although the mechanic wasn’t around for Gen 1, it became a staple in the following generation.

On November 18, 2022, Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet will be available for Nintendo Switch.
