Pokemon Sword/Shield – First Pokemon titles to cross 20 million units since Gold/Silver

Nintendo published their latest financial results briefing reporting updated sales figures for various first-party titles.

According to these figures, Pokemon Sword and Shield sold over 20.35 million units worldwide as of December 31st 2020. This means they have become the first set of Pokemon games since Pokemon Gold And Silver to cross 20 million units sold.

That said, Pokemon Sword And Shield have still yet to surpass the overall sales figures of Pokemon Gold And Silver which reached up to 23.73 million by the end of their run. but with how Nintendo Switches are still selling that also does not seem like a stretch.
