About Power Chord

Heavy metal demons have manifested themselves via a rift in the fabric of reality and have made arrangements to perform at your place of business. Gather the new members of the Knights of Thunder Fist so that you may reclaim the seedy dive bars in this town from the hellspawn who have taken over them. Fight each Battle of the Bands using a turn-based system that is simple to learn but has a lot of depth. Construct a deck of potent cards, each of which riffs off the larger-than-life personality of a bandmate, in order to make it through a concert tour that will go down in history.

In this rock and roll roguelike, which was inspired by the pioneers of the deckbuilding genre, you begin the performance by selecting a guitarist, singer, drummer, and bassist, each of whom has specialized cards. Utilizing the many talents that each member of the band has, you can drive back the evil onslaught. You may either draw and pick cards to have the bassist’s toxin do damage over time to the enemy’s armor, sing songs that raise stats to get the lead guitarist ready for a spectacular solo, or have the tank drum up defenses for the band.

You may expand the repertoire by winning fights and claiming additional cards at each randomly generated stop along the tour. However, it is important to play wisely since the road is lengthy and every venue has the possibility for hundreds of different rival band configurations. A band that lacks harmony will eventually come apart, and if a member of the band is hurt, they will have to sit out until the next Rest Site. Only the most tenacious of teams will be able to take on the terrifying, demonic rock gods who await as bosses.

Build a one-of-a-kind rock lore by amassing a legendary collection of cards to push the band’s performance to the next level and create a lasting legacy in the world of rock. Develop game-ending combinations in order to not only stay alive but also to bring the house down (literally in some cases). Commemorate the success of a whole team as well as the exciting legacies left behind by rock, heavy metal, and punk music.

“Rock music and its progeny have presented listeners with such fantastic, expressive highs throughout the decades, and it’s continually changing to offer new delights,” Big Blue Bubble creative director Jamie Boylan said today. “Rock music is constantly growing to yield new joys.” In the same vein, Power Chord is an evolution of the roguelike deck builder, but it has a great deal more strategic possibilities and depth than its predecessor. It also celebrates the visual history of rock, from devilish accessories to eye-catching record cover artwork.
