About River City Girls 2

River City Girls 2 picks up where the first one left off. It puts Misako, Kyoko, Kunio, Riki, and two new characters, Marian and Provie, in the fight of their lives when an old enemy comes back to cause trouble. But the girls (and guys) aren’t just giving up. They’re fighting back with new stat-changing accessories, new items, new weapons, and more moves (like Kyoko’s Cartwheel Kick and Misako’s Lightning Rider), as well as brand-new abilities like guard-crushing attacks and lift-off combos. The enemies you hired to help you in battle are back, and this time you can hold two at once! Plus, you can now hire henchmen who are even stronger than before.

River City is more alive than ever, with a day/night cycle, a more complicated landscape, more shops, new dangers, hidden areas, and a lot of things that can be broken. The brawl will take players to many new and updated parts of the city, such as downtown slums, a tech company campus, and an enchanted forest, and pit them against a variety of new enemies and bosses, such as the Dragon Twins (Ryuji and Ryuichi). Our heroes can even go to hideouts, which are places where they can store extra gear, trade recruits, or just hang out and listen to music.

River City Girls 2 also has better quest tracking, three levels of difficulty, and a dynamic story system with dialogue that changes based on which characters the player controls. And, of course, the game has a new animated intro, new cutscenes that look like comic books, and a new hard-hitting synthpop soundtrack by Megan McDuffee, who made the original River City Girls soundtrack.
