Ruined King: A League Of Legends Story – Delayed to Late 2021

League of Legends fans will have to wait a little longer to experience the tale of Ruined King: A League of Legends Story.

Developer Riot Forge announced a delay. It will be launching later in 2021 instead of its original release window of Early 2021.

About League of Legends

League of Legends is an incredibly popular multiplayer series, with Worlds 2020 seeing millions of concurrent viewers, so a foray into single player for the universe came as a surprise.

Unlike the multiplayer online battle arena it’s based on, Ruined King will focus on an immersive turn-based RPG format. Players can configure their party of League champions while exploring locations of Runeterra like Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles.

Reasons for delaying Ruined King: A League Of Legends Story

According to Riot Forge, 2020 has seen a host of obstacles hindering its original plans for Ruined King. This is not shocking given the COVID-19 pandemic has led to many major game delays. With the changing timeline, it sounds like there will need to be adjustments made for the upcoming title.

It is clear Riot Forge wants to release a project that lives up to the vision of developers Airship Syndicate.

While this may come as a disappointment to some, Riot Forge mentions it wants to be transparent about development. Too often game developers experiences put out information that can result in unrealistic expectations or unfinished releases.
