Previously, Smash series producer Masahiro Sakurai announced that five packs of DLC fighters would be heading to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Smash DLC
This DLC will release throughout 2019, and into 2020.However, it also seems like everything has already been set in stone. According to a recent tweet by Sakurai, DLC plans are now ‘complete’. Apparently, Nintendo had a bigger hand in selecting fighters this time, while Sakurai only assessed if those selections were possible.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC line-up is now complete. This time the selection was made entirely by Nintendo. I decide if we can create a fighter based on their selection, then come up with the plan.

With this in mind, Sakurai also asked that fans keep their requests for new fighters to a minimum.
It’s great to dream about your favorite character joining the battle and I appreciate your passion, but please try to stay on topic when replying to tweets and refrain from flooding us, and other users, with requests when we're not specifically asking for feedback. Thank you!

Hmm should we be worried or happy about Nintendo’s involvement in the selection of the DLC? It seems to point towards Nintendo specific character DLC at that point which is somewhat of a shame because a surprise third party inclusion would have been more epic.
So I guess this means no to at least Banjo Kazooie in the long run … sigh … we will never see them again on Nintendo’s system which saddens me a bit.
