SNK announced the next DLC fighter heading to Samurai Shodown as part of the game’s third season pass.
The new fighter is Shiro Tokisada Amakusa, the main villain of the first game who has gone on to appear in many other titles in the series. He will be arriving in the Samurai Shodown on June 14th alongside the Steam release for the game.
Following this latest reveal, the only remaining character for the pass is the Guilty Gear crossover character that has been teased multiple times.
About Shiro Tokisada Amakusa
Shiro Tokisada Amakusa, sometimes called Shirou Amakusa or simply Amakusa, is a recurring boss and playable character in the Samurai Shodown series, the first known agent of the series’ major villain, Ambrosia.
He is an alternate portrayal of the historical figure of the same name. The historical Amakusa led a Christian rebellion in the Shimabara region of Japan where the bakufu army crushed his revolt and executed him.
He is portrayed as an evil sorcerer wielding the Palenke Stone. The portrayal shows hints and views of what the Japanese at the time period perceive Christianity as: an unnatural force of evil and a tool for conquest from outside forces.
