Skul: The Hero Slayer – version 1.5.2 update

Skul: The Hero Slayer for Nintendo Switch has received an update bring the game to version 1.5.2. There have been a lot of changes to the skulls, items, and writings. Also, the team has fixed many bugs in many different ways.

  • Map and NPC changes were made.
    • With the most recent update, the game got a lot of new items, but the number of items users could get stayed the same. This became a problem because it made it hard for users to mix and match items the way they wanted to.
    • Due to the fact that Skul users can only hold a limited number of items, the recent update made the game harder.
    • So, with this patch, we lowered both the price of the item and the price of restocking it. We did this to make a quick fix, but we don’t think this is the best way to fix it.
    • We will find a more fun way for users to get items in the next update, taking into account the number of items and how hard it is to get them.
    • Prices of items sold by the Collector will go down at all stages.
    • At all stages, the Collector’s restock price for items he sells will go down.
    • When restocking often, the rate at which prices go up will go down.
    • The amount of gold that the field NPCs “Little Gust” and “Lion’s Sword” need will go down.
    • The rate of Grace of Jealousy against NPCs goes up when there is a change in the physical attack. 50 percent 80 percent Evil Druid of the Demon King’s Castle
    • The problem where the Poison Gas Trap on the event map “Dangerous Box” sometimes did more damage has been fixed.
  • Skull
    • As we got ready for the Major Overhaul for Skul’s Items, we paid a lot of attention to the boss fight with the Frost Skull.
    • It’s cool to use Freeze to stop the boss, but if it’s used too often, the boss won’t be able to do anything and will be defeated inside the ice.
    • When this happens too often, it could make the battle less exciting and less tense.
    • Before this patch, the Frost Skull’s skills were more than enough for the new Freeze system to kill the boss.
    • The easiest way to solve this problem was to make Frost Skul’s Freeze effect based on chance, but we didn’t want Status Effect skills to be based on chance.
    • We overestimated the Frost Skull’s ability to stop the boss, so we made it weaker than we thought it would be.
    • This patch brought the Frost Skull’s abilities up to a good level, but we still don’t think that too much Freeze and Stun in boss fights is the best thing.
    • We’ll fix this problem as soon as possible by making bosses more resistant to status effects.
    • In this patch, we’ll use “alternative measures” to bring the abilities of Frost skull and Status Effects like Freeze and Stun up to the right level for the Status Effect system as it is now.
    • But in the next update, we’ll use the Status Effect system to make the boss battle much more interesting.

    • The effect has been added: Attack speed is 15% faster.

  • Inscriptions
    • We overestimated how the Inscription could be changed and how it could be used in different ways. As a result, the limit of growth got lower, and inscriptions didn’t work as well in the end as they used to. We looked at the overall value of Inscriptions and how hard enemies were, and we made Inscriptions better overall.
    • By this measure, we kept the growth cap at the same level as before.
  • Heirloom
    • With 4 Inscriptions, the effect is that damage changes from 20% to 45% more.
