Sonic Frontiers director – Global playtest comment

Morio Kishimoto, the director of Sonic Frontiers, tweeted a broad statement to the input the game has so far received, mentioning that they had been examining both player and reviewer criticism. He said that “we will take this seriously as a worldwide playtest,” even if he acknowledged that “there are still places where we are not quite there yet.”

SEGA said that it was “working hard to enhance the quality of the game toward its sales for the Christmas season” at a financial results Q&A in May of this year. The business said that it hoped for positive reviews because they may “create synergy with sales” if they were well received.

SEGA’s new strategy for the franchise seems to be only getting started with Sonic Frontiers. The head of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise, Takashi Iizuka, described the open zone idea as “that next step for the next 10 years.” According to the general assessment thus far, Sonic Frontiers has promise and opportunity for growth, so what was provided may be improved for subsequent games.
