Sonic Origins – Sonic 3 & Knuckles won’t include all original songs

Unfortunately, what we all expected has occurred, and Sonic 3 and Knuckles in Sonic Origins will not feature the whole original soundtrack.

This is probably owing to the fact that part of the music was created by a certain Micheal Jackson, which is where things become extremely complicated. Instead, according to Sonic social media manager Katie Chrzanowski, long-time Sonic soundtrack composer Jun Senoue is working hard to reproduce the music as faithfully as possible to the originals. Sonic Origins will be released on several platforms on June 23rd.

Sonic social media manager Katie Chrzanowski

“While we can’t utilize all of the original sounds from the Sega Genesis version of the game, Jun Senoue has worked very hard to adapt the original music written in 1993 for Sonic Origins.”

“He’s gone as far as replicating it, using the same sound chip from the Sega Genesis and his own digital audio cassette collection, to make it as true to the originals as possible.”
