Famitsu, a Japanese gaming magazine and website, recently conducted an interview with Takashi Iizuka, the creator of Sonic Team. During the conversation, Iizuka was questioned about the plans for the year 2023.
More Sonic content in 2023
Mr. Iizuka claims that the year 2022 was the most successful year in the history of Sonic the Hedgehog, and that they are “preparing a second wave” of content for the year 2023. SEGA has said in the past that further content for Sonic Frontiers would be made available in 2019, but he assures us that there is “a lot more outside of that,” so we should look forward to it.
According to the creator of Sonic, Takashi Iizuka, these are the plans for the year 2023: “This past year was the biggest year in Sonic history, involving the release of the movie sequel, new titles Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers, and the Netflix anime Sonic Prime. We are already formulating plans for a second wave of material in order to keep the audience delighted and the momentum going until the year 2023. Please keep an open mind and look forward to the many additional surprises that we have in store for you in addition to the new content that we have announced for Sonic Frontiers.
