Spellbreak shutting down, servers stopping early 2023

The studio revealed that Proletariat has decided to stop work on Spellbreak and will shut it down. The game’s support will terminate in early 2023, when the servers will go down.

Proletariat could not present a clear cause for Spellbreak’s demise. The studio, on the other hand, said that it is “eager to continue to innovate as we produce new games in the future.”

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the acquisition of Proletariat. The company will continue to work on World of Warcraft.

Spellbreak is being shut down

We’ve decided to discontinue Spellbreak development after more than four years of elemental magic and spell combinations. The servers will be decommissioned in early 2023. Thank you to all of the gamers who have joined us in the Hollow Lands since 2018; it’s been an incredible ride.

Our goal was to build a new multiplayer action-spellcasting game with great mobility and class customization that would allow players to channel their inner battlemage. We’d want to thank everyone in the game’s community for spending time exploring the beautiful landscapes and experiences we built together. Spellbreak was an ambitious project that saw our team push new design and development limits, and we are enthusiastic to keep innovating as we build new games in the future.

Thank you to all Spellbreak fans throughout the globe for your support and commitment in making the game and community so great.

Spellbreaker has been around for a while, but it didn’t make it on the Nintendo Switch until 2020.
