Splatoon 3 – Version 2.1.0 patch notes

Splatoon 3 – Version 2.1.0 patch notes

It has been confirmed by Nintendo that an update for Splatoon 3 was released on the 17th of January. A few months ago, it had been confirmed that the update will be arriving around to the time of the game’s Chill Season that is exactly halfway through.

Now that the day has come, Nintendo has delivered on its promise and made the update available. When you have finished updating, the version of Splatoon 3 should be 2.1.0.

We have omitted the whole list of weapon alterations; however, you can see them at this link: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/59461/#v210

Version 2.1.0 patch notes

This update focuses on adjusting several aspects of the combat system.

A significant portion of the changes made to the primary weapons were designed to mitigate the negative effects of some weapons from Splatoon 2, for which the greater performance afforded by gear abilities in Splatoon 3 was rendered obsolete.

Regarding the modifications that have been made to Ninja Squid, while we have addressed the issue in which players would lose sight of each other when shooting at each other from a relatively close distance, we have also kept the method by which players can approach opponents from further away. This was done on purpose.

In order to provide players with a wider variety of alternatives, we decreased the amount that was required to fill the special gauges of some weapons, and within that group, we improved the performance of certain widely utilized short-range weapons.

We made it more difficult to fill the special gauges on some weapons by increasing the number of resources required to do so, and within that category, we made it more difficult to use special and subweapons to launch attacks from a distance.

In addition to that, we made a few alterations to make the appearance of special weapons more prominent.

The next patch will concentrate on new features and the overall balance of weapons in preparation for the new season’s debut in March. The revision is scheduled to go live at the conclusion of the current season.

  • Fixes for many bugs and improvements to player controls
    • A bug has been fixed that allowed players to climb through barriers that should not have been climbable by utilizing the Squid Surge and Squid Roll abilities together.
    • There was a bug that caused your movement speed to slow down if you were immersed in ink on a wall and then moved to any ground at a particular angle while continuing to travel while submerged. This bug has been fixed.
    • There was a bug that caused bullets fired from a Bloblobber at a tower or other moving terrain elements to strike and vanish instead of hitting and rebounding as they were supposed to.
    • There was a bug that occurred when a player was moving or leaping with an open umbrella, and the area that was shielded from oncoming ink seemed to be around 1/60 of a second behind where it really was. This has been fixed.
    • There was a bug that caused a player to be shocked and the umbrella to seem to sink into the earth if they landed with the umbrella open. This has been fixed.
    • There was a problem where the region that was being shielded from incoming ink by an open umbrella was slightly off to the left or right of where it seemed to be. This has now been fixed.
    • We fixed a bug that caused the animation of extending an umbrella to provide protection from assaults to play out more slowly than the beginning of the real protective effect.
    • We were able to resolve an issue in which the animation of shutting an umbrella during the animation of raising an umbrella did not show smoothly.
    • There was a bug where assaults to the rear of the Crab Tank, such as the Ink Storm, would bounce off while the tank was in walking mode, even if they directly struck the player. This has been fixed.
    • There was a bug that caused the player to fall in an unexpected area after using the Inkjet or Zipcaster without ever making contact with the ground. This has been fixed.
    • We’ve fixed an issue in which the Wave Breaker would disappear from the displays of other players very instantly if the height at which it was placed was somewhat near to the waterline.
    • There was a bug that caused the Wave Breaker’s waves to not appear in neighboring lower areas inside the area of impact if the Wave Breaker was placed at a specified height. This bug has been fixed.
    • We corrected an issue in which, when the Wave Breaker was put at a certain elevation, neighboring lower spaces may or might not come inside the area of influence owing to tiny changes in location. This was accomplished by slightly enlarging the area of effect in the lower region.
  • Alterations to the Multiplayer Mode
    • There was a bug in Eeltail Alley that would cause the game to run more slowly if specific portions of the environment were inked with a roller. This has been fixed.
    • When playing the Rainmaker mode in Hagglefish Market, there was a bug that caused the score to not move smoothly in specific portions of the game. This bug has been fixed.

    • Fixed an issue that occurred in Mahi-Mahi Resort’s Splat Zones mode that prevented players from properly placing a Tacticooler in certain areas and prevented the player who tried to place it from being able to properly stand on the stage’s terrain. The issue occurred when players tried to place the Tacticooler.
    • There was a bug that, while playing the Rainmaker mode in Sturgeon Shipyard, caused the score to not move smoothly in specific sections. This bug has been fixed.
    • When playing the Rainmaker mode in MakoMart, there was a bug that caused the score to not update smoothly in specific sections. This bug has been fixed.
    • Wahoo World has had a bug fixed that previously enabled players to scale barriers that were not meant for them to do so.
    • Fixed a bug in Wahoo World that enabled players to leap from an inkrail onto a spotlight when doing so was intended to be impossible.
    • There was a bug at Brinewater Springs that prevented the trees in front of you from becoming translucent. This has been fixed.
    • Fixed an issue that occurred in Brinewater Springs when playing the Splat Zones, Tower Control, Rainmaker, or Clam Blitz game modes. This issue caused the score to not change smoothly in certain areas, and it also caused the message “DON’T RETREAT!” to be displayed, even if you weren’t retreating very much.
    • There was a bug between Brinewater Springs and Flounder Heights that allowed ink shot from a great height to vanish before it reached the ground. This has been fixed.
    • There was a bug in Flounder Heights’ Splat Zones, Tower Control, Rainmaker, and Clam Blitz game types that enabled players to leap from an inkrail into a water tank. This bug has been fixed.
  • Alterations to the Salmon Run
    • Fixed an issue in which, in the event that a communication problem took place at a certain moment when the results of the Big Run were being broadcast, you would be able to get a decoration but not the badge that corresponds to it.
    • If you were impacted by this problem, you will be able to get your badge after applying this update data and restarting the game. If you were not impacted by this issue, you will not be able to earn your badge.

    • There was a bug at Marooner’s Bay that, when it was low tide, made it impossible to ink over the area of attack of a Flipper-Flopper if the Pokémon tried to dive close to the water’s surface. This bug has been fixed.
    • There was a bug at Marooner’s Bay that caused a slowness in the game to occur whenever players or Salmonids came into touch with particular terrain. This bug has now been fixed.
    • There was a bug that caused alternative Grizzco weapons to be provided when a job scenario was re-played as a private job after it had been saved with Grizzco weapons in it. This has been fixed.
  • Alterations to the Story Mode
    • We fixed a bug that caused the umbrella to malfunction if you switched from using it as your primary weapon to using one of the other weapons in a stage’s weapon selection. It is possible that it will not launch, or that it will not shield against hostile strikes.
