Square Enix is getting ready for STAR OCEAN First Departure R‘s release on the Nintendo Switch.
On Twitter, the official Star Ocean PR account released the introduction video ahead of the game’s launch on 5th December 2019. The video features all new character designs, as well as a new intro song for the HD remake.

STAR OCEAN is a role-playing game that has garnered attention for merging sci-fi and fantasy in its story. It was originally released for the Super Famicom in 1996, followed by “STAR OCEAN: First Departure”, a remake for PlayStation Portable in 2007.

NEWLY DRAWN ILLUSTRATIONS
Illustrations based on the designs from the original (Super Famicom) version have been newly drawn by Katsumi Enami, the artist behind the character illustrations for SO4. Additionally, players can now select their preferred illustration by switching between the FD and FDR versions during gameplay.
ADJUSTED GAME BALANCE
Adjusted battle difficulty enabling players to enjoy challenging combat, a signature quality of the STAR OCEAN series.
