Super Bomberman Online R, Konami’s battle royale-style Bomberman game for Nintendo Switch and PC, sadly received some bad news.
According to Konami’s official website, the game will be discontinued later this year, on December 1st, 2022, owing to “different reasons.” The service will be discontinued across all platforms, and the sale of the game’s premium currency will be discontinued on June 1st. It is also recommended that players use all of their premium currency before the closure date.
Despite the fact that the service is being phased down, Konami’s news article concluded by stating that “the “Bomberman” series is going ahead with new projects,” and that they expect to be able to reveal more information about them soon. This implies that a new Bomberman title of some type will be announced, however no precise details have been given thus yet.
