Next month Nintendo Switch Online finally launches after a series of delays. One of the extras that subscribers can use is an ever-growing library of NES games.
Enter Super Mario Bros 3
One of the titles that will appear here is Super Mario Bros. 3. Nintendo has posted a first screenshot of Super Mario Bros. 3 as it will be playable through Nintendo Switch Online.
There are no crazy things to see in the image above, it all looks exactly as we remember him (for the non-experts in world 4 everything was a bit like Tiny Huge island, hence the proportions).
We see the edges on the sides of the screen that will be used when playing the games. Something that seems to indicate that the games can only be played in their original 4: 3 view.
That is immediately something we find very sorry, please note that we understand that stretching out the image also has its disadvantages, but it really feels a lot less compared to games where that is not the case.
It is also noticeable that the bar indicates which player’s turn it is. With Nintendo Switch Online it is possible to play the game for the first time in online multiplayer. Only we wonder a little bit about how, besides of time trial and high score modes.
Nintendo Switch Online launches mid September and we expect a Nintendo Direct for it within now and the next couple of weeks.
