GameXplain reports that Nintendo’s Content Delivery Network was just recently updated with Spirits from the Dragon Quest series including some that are even viewable like the Dragon Quest 11 party characters and the famous blue slime.

No exact release date

Nintendo previously revealed that all Smash Ultimate characters in the Fighter Pass, starting with Joker, would have their own Spirit Boards in the game dedicated to their own unique franchises that weren’t in the game at launch suggesting that Hero might be dropped any time now.

Hero was given a broad Summer 2019 release window though a pop up ad was found at 7/11s in Japan which is only supposed to stay up until August 4 — the same day of EVO 2019 finals where Smash Ultimate will close out the day. This means that we’ll likely see them announce the official release on or before that date.

It would feel a little strange to release Hero right now given that it would take some of the spotlight away from the record-breaking Smash attendance for EVO this year happening less than a week from now.

Maybe Nintendo will drop the news at the start of top 8 on Sunday like many other companies are surely likely to do.
