About Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival

“In TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL, players go on a crazy adventure through a music festival in colorful Omiko City. With DON-Chan and a new character named Kumo-Kyun as guides, the game gives players multiple ways to play, practice, and eventually master the endlessly fun experience of playing digital Taiko drums set to favorite songs, including pop hits and video game classics. There are 76 songs in the base game of TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL. Some of the new songs are “Gurenge,” “Feel Special,” and “Racing into the Night.”

There are different ways to play the game. In Story Mode, players try to become a Taiko master. In Online battles, players can get new exclusive rewards every season. In “couch co-op” Party Mode, players can play with friends and compete in fun minigames like “The Great Drum Toy War.” And in Taiko Mode, players can play and practice for as long as they want. The game also has a fun customization system. As players play, they earn “Don Coins,” which they can use to buy fun in-game things like costumes and nameplates that are important to the game.

Dan Ham, Senior Brand Manager at Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., says

For the first time in the Americas, everyone’s favorite drum rhythm game is now available as a physical release. TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL gives returning players the best experience yet with its huge number of songs and wide range of features. It’s also a great place for new players to start with better support. We can’t wait for DON-chan and our new friend Kumo-kyun to be on the shelves of drummers everywhere.

“Since 2001, when the first TAIKO NO TATSUJIN rhythm game came out, there have been many titles and songs. The Taiko Music Pass will be available for the first time in TAIKO NO TATSUJIN: RHYTHM FESTIVAL. This will give players access to more than 500 songs and monthly updates with new songs. As a special bonus, players who saved their progress in the 2018 version of TAIKO NO TATSUJINTM: DRUM ‘N’ FUN will get three more songs and items that can be changed.
