Temtem – Getting compared to Pokemon

As a game about collecting creatures, Temtem has been compared to Pokemon. The company that made Temtem, Crema, has now commented about these comparisons.

Luca Prieto from Crema said that the team thinks these comparisons are “healthy to a degree.” But the developer thinks it’s important to say that “Temtem is not backed up by 25 years of learning, progressing, and developing, and that we’re a much smaller IP that hasn’t gone beyond game development.”

The comparison is not only unavoidable, but it’s also kind of good for you in a way. We know that anything in the same genre will be compared at some point, and we don’t get mad at the people who do it. Most of us are fans of Pokemon and grew up with it, so it’s nice to be compared to a game that is so popular and important. We usually say that Temtem doesn’t have 25 years of learning, growing, and improving behind it, and that we’re a much smaller IP that hasn’t gone beyond making games. At the end of the day, we always say that each game, even if it’s in the same genre, should have enough room to be its own thing and not be judged by how similar or different it is to another game. This is what we tell our community.

About Temtem

A hugely multiplayer game about collecting creatures

Temtem is an adventure game where you collect creatures with a lot of other people. Find adventure with your Temtem squad in the beautiful Airborne Archipelago. Catch every Temtem, fight other tamers, change your house, go on an adventure with a friend, or just look around the online world.

Every kid dreams of becoming a Temtem tamer and exploring the six islands of the Airborne Archipelago, finding new species, and making new friends along the way. Now it’s up to you to go on an epic journey and make your dreams come true.

You can catch new Temtem on the floating islands of Omninesia, fight other tamers on the sandy beaches of Deniz, or trade with friends in the ash-covered fields of Tucma. Beat the annoying Clan Belsoto and stop its plan to take over the Archipelago, then beat all eight Dojo Leaders to become the best Temtem trainer of all time!

Features

  • Story Campaign: Travel across six beautiful islands and fight against the evil Clan Belsoto on your way to becoming a Temtem tamer.
  • Online World: No longer can you travel alone; in Temtem, the world has a lot of people in it. Tamers from all over the world can join, and you’ll be able to see them around you as they take part in the adventure and compete to be the best Temtem tamer.
  • Co-Op Adventure: You can team up with a friend at any time and work on your next goal together. You can catch new Temtem, finish a Route, or fight a Temtem Leader while fighting with a friend in dual battles.
