Once upon a time, a brave hero faced down the terrifying dragon known as the Cruel King and triumphed. Instead of delivering the last blow, the hero chose to sever one of the dragon’s horns and declare, “You must atone for your misdeeds!”
The hero spent time with the dragon as he healed in the days that followed, and before they knew it, the hero and the dragon had become very close friends. Years later, the hero died of a devastating wound, leaving behind his only daughter, Yuu. He requested that his loyal buddy raise his daughter to be a great hero, and the powerful beast agreed as the hero’s last desire.
Since then, he has kept a close eye on Yuu, acting as her defender and guide on her numerous excursions in the hopes that she would one day become a great hero. These blissful days, however, will not endure long, as the truth about the Cruel Monarch’s history will inevitably surface, ushering in new hardships for both the king and Yuu…
