The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2’s name is being kept a secret

Nintendo revealed a new look at the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 – which shows that players will be able to explore the skies above Hyrule.

During an interview with IGN, Nintendo’s Bill Trinen shared that Nintendo was indeed holding back on revealing the game’s full title for the sake of keeping its premise more of a secret.

No hints for sequel

Trinen stated that knowing the full title would already give away “little hints” about what happens in the new adventure:

As for why we’re holding back on the name, you’ll just have to stay tuned because, obviously, Zelda names are kind of important. Those subtitles… they start to give little bits of hints about maybe what’s going to happen.

2022 something

The Nintendo presentation showed off some more footage of the game, while revealing a 2022 release date.

We don’t know if that’s early 2022 or late 2022, but it’s worth noting that the original Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017 – and if Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is being planned as a launch title for a Nintendo Switch Pro, then a March 2022 date would prove a neat five-year anniversary title to say the least.
