The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild over a million in Japan

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has officially been sold more than one million times in Japan.

The Nintendo Switch version was good for 871,528 sales, while the Wii U adds another 133,024. Digital sales are not included here. This makes it the most successful Zelda title there, as indicated earlier, since Ocarina of Time, a game that dates back to 1998.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been available for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U since March 3rd.

Milestone for a franchise

Despite all this, it is another milestone for a more than 30 year old franchise. But if there is one thing we want to underline about the franchise, it is that Zelda is still developing. Look at how Breath of the Wild has given the genre a new standard.

Still unprecedented for something that has been around for 30 years.
