The long-awaited cross-platform play update for Warframe for Nintendo Switch has been released by Digital Extremes.
The update, as the title suggests, enables cross-platform play between Warframe gamers on Nintendo Switch, PC, Playstation, and Xbox. If players choose to participate, they may do so via the Options menu. The creators have also revealed plans to expand Warframe’s cross-platform play capabilities, including an eventual cross-save function that would enable players to transfer their progress from one version of the game to another.

“Cross Platform Play is a feature designed to finally connect the Origin System!” We’re bringing Tenno from all around the world and across platforms together to play. As we continue to enhance Cross Platform Play, we are expanding it to allow more people to enjoy Warframe Missions together.”
“Cross Platform Save is an optional feature that allows players to transfer part of their progress from one platform to another.” Cross Platform Save is not presently available, however we will keep the Community informed on when it will be accessible as Cross Platform Play work progresses.”
“In the game Options Menu, you may toggle the Cross Platform Play option on and off.” When the functionality is activated, a platform icon will appear next to the player’s name. They may chat, join Squads, and anticipate faster Public Matchmaking as more Origin System players from all platforms join in on the Missions ahead. Players from all platforms may meet in Relays and Dojos, however VoIP chat services will be implemented later and are now unavailable.”
