Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap gets physcial release

Earlier this year in April, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap came out for the Nintendo Switch. A remake of the SEGA classic. In the game, you can switch back and forth between the original and the new style with the push of a button.

One thing was a shame for this game and that was that it was only available as download. But DotEmu has now, with the help of Nicalis (known for for exmaple Cave Story +), acknowledged there will be a physical release of the game.

When is not known at the time of writing, but as soon as we know, you will of course hear it from us.

Extra’s

Nicalis always makes something special of physical releases by going the extra mile and add things like a little manual, a additional goodie etc. Something from which many larger companies can learn.

Let’s hope that for Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap this will happen as well, what might be be cool is a reversible cover in the style of the original SEGA Master System Artwork … but we’re going to let ourselves be suprised by Nicalis in that regard.

Whether we personally aquire the physcial version of the game depends a bit on that point because we purchased this game immediately upon launch with the suspicion that there would be no physical release coming. Even though it’s a nice and good the game , if nothing else is added it is not worth the double dip from our point of view.

Do you have Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap yet? If not be sure to check out the physical version!
