Splatoon & Mario Kart 8 taken offline – ENLBufferPwn concerns

You are probably already well aware of a major security issue that Nintendo has been forced to solve with its video gaming products at this point. It was determined in December that older games that had received updates had done so because Nintendo had patched a security flaw referred to as the “ENLBufferPwn” attack. This discovery came about. The vulnerability would make it feasible for hackers to take over the console without being detected, and the only thing the hacker would need to do in order to do so is for the victim to be playing one of the susceptible games online.

Security concerns

Yet, finding a solution to the problem has not been a simple task. Nintendo has uncovered the presence of the vulnerability on certain titles for the Switch, Wii U, and 3DS systems. Since Nintendo has resolved the issue that had been affecting both the 3DS and the Switch, a number of software upgrades were released during the course of the previous year. Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 are still susceptible to the hack, despite the fact that Nintendo is making headway in addressing the problem. Having said that, it seems things will soon be changing.

Splatoon 1 and Mario Kart 8 were both taken offline by Nintendo. There is currently no information available to indicate when any of these titles will be playable online.
