Nintendo Switch successor when a new experience is possible

Shuntaro Furukawa, the president of Nintendo, spoke with Japanese news outlet The Nikkei and was asked when the Kyoto-based business plans to release a successor to the successful Nintendo Switch system.

Mr. Furukawa emphasized that the corporation begins planning for a successor many years ahead of time, and that the internal resource and development teams are always seeking for new types of entertainment. He finished by stating that the ultimate determining factor would be when everything falls into place and they are able to effectively pull everything together to create a whole new experience.

“The hardware and software development teams are housed in the same facility, collaborating closely and brainstorming new ways to amuse people.” We have to perform a lot of planning many years ahead of time in order to build a single piece of hardware, therefore we are always working. In the end, whether or not to commercialize a thing is determined by its ability to offer a new experience.”
