Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp – February 2023 delay

Due to the continuing war in Ukraine, Nintendo was obliged to postpone the release of Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp, a recreation of the original two Advance Wars games for the Nintendo Switch.

February 2023 delay

Since then, Nintendo has been appropriately mum on the project, but a merchant may have offered a possible release window for the game. According to rumors, Swedish retailer Coolshop recently emailed consumers who pre-ordered Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp with the new release date of February 24, 2022. This updated date is also reflected on the retailer’s product page for the game, as shown here at the time of writing.

It should be noted that Nintendo has not officially confirmed this date, despite the fact that it falls on a Friday, which is common for Nintendo launches. However, some have pointed out that this day represents precisely one year since the beginning of the crisis in Ukraine, which may indicate that Coolshop is using this date as a placeholder. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.

About Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp

As a tactical advisor for the Orange Star Army, you lead an army in strategic, turn-based battle. As you deploy land, air, and naval troops throughout the battlefield, your competence is required. To achieve victory and maintain peace, eliminate enemy squads and conquer cities and bases. As you command a variety of forces through several maps, keep an eye on the ever-changing landscape and weather. This remake includes two campaigns covering the events of both Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising!

Fight with competent Commanding Officers

With the assistance of Andy, Max, Sami, and other Commanding Officers, each with their own specializations and CO Powers, defend your territory. Andy is able to restore units, whilst Sami can enhance the capabilities of soldiers. Your opponents may also employ their own CO skills. The COs you encounter during both campaigns have a crucial role on the battlefield and in the narrative.

Recruit some allies and choose the best strategy.

When you’re not busy preserving the peace in one of the two campaign tales, you may demonstrate your army commanding skills in Versus Mode*. Up to four players may engage in combat on hundreds of maps. Each player selects a commander from each campaign and may use their CO Powers tactically to alter the course of battle. Customize your warfare with settings such as per-allied-base funding and fog of war.
