Monolith Soft is not finished with the Xenoblade Chronicles series yet.
Recently the physical release of the original soundtrack of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was released in Japan. This edition also contained a booklet containing some words from Tetsuya Takahashi, Executive Director of Monolith Soft, and Koh Kojima, who worked as a producer on all Xenoblade titles.
Translations take place
From these messages are now circulating translations and it shows that there is talk about the possible future of Xenoblade Chronicles. Whose words were not entirely clear, but it was decided that they would like to work on a successor to the Xenoblade Chronicles series and on a sequel of Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Monolith Soft has previously discussed how the company sees the two as separate lines, with Xenoblade Chronicles being more narrative, while Xenoblade Chronicles X emphasizes exploration.
New project
It was further stated that there is interest to work on a completely new and original project. This could refer to the new project with which Monolith Soft has already started.
