Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack – Adding Pokemon Transfers for Pokemon Stadium

Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 were included to the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack service by The Pokemon Company and Nintendo last year, despite the fact that a vital component that enabled players to bring in their own Pokemon from prior games was absent.

On the other hand, only recently, a member of the Famiboards community observed something extremely fascinating in a new movie about the service that was uploaded by Nintendo Japan. When you go to the part of the article that talks about Pokemon Stadium, you won’t see the notification that says “Pokemon Cannot Be Transferred To These Games” anymore. This disclaimer was included in the first announcement that Pokemon Stadium would be coming to the Switch Online. It was via this that we found out that transferring Pokémon would not be permitted in those particular versions of the game.

Pokemon Stadium Transfers coming?

As a result of this revelation, many people are speculating that Nintendo has plans to finally include the option to transfer Pokemon into the Pokemon Stadium mode of Switch Online. Since these are the only games that Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2 were able to accept transfers from, some people have gone one step further and speculated that this also confirms that Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow and Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal will be coming to Switch Online’s newly announced Game Boy catalogue.

Players were only able to use rental teams when they played the Switch Online version of Pokemon Stadium, which made it difficult, if not impossible, for them to complete the game. This decision was met with criticism when it was announced that the game would launch without the ability to transfer Pokémon, as this was a significant part of the games that came before it. Fans are sure to be pretty contented if this feature were to make a comeback, and they would be much more so if it signaled the inclusion of the Game Boy Pokemon games in the service as well.

As of the time that this article was written, The Pokemon Company and Nintendo had not as of yet made any formal pronouncements about this possible new inclusion. Keep an eye out for more information as it becomes available.
