Version 1.26.107.0 patch notes

Feature Updates

Gravity Globe

In the wild, a new vehicle has been found! This strange device seems to be an improvement on EXO’s line of recreational enrichment items. It has a gyro-stabilized control platform inside, which is a clever addition. Even though the Gravity Globe looks simple, it uses some of EXO’s most advanced technologies. This lets it roll against gravity (within reason) and even “hop” over small obstacles. Like the more simple Recreational Spheres, the Gravity Globe is a great way for Astroneers to learn something new (and other sentient beings, where appropriate).

Gravity Globes can sometimes be found on EXO wreckage. They are most often found on abandoned spaceports, but they can also be found on rover chassis (for what purpose remains unknown). They can also be bought through the Trade Platform.

Trade Platform: 8x Astronium

Shredding Output: 1x Scrap

Power Draw: [ERROR – PROPULSIVE MECHANISM UNRECOGNIZED]

Portable Smelter

There is now a new, rare crafting item that makes it easier to refine valuable resources. This small item has a lot of uses. You can process nuggets on the go in your Backpack, start a new base from scratch, or use it as part of a complex automated production network.

You can sometimes find portable smelters on EXO wreckage while exploring, or you can buy them on the Trade Platform.

8x Astronium Shredding is the trade platform. Output: 2x Scrap Power Drawn: 2 Power per second

Strange Things

Someone has seen something… new… show up in abandoned backpacks on different planets in the Sylva System. It’s not clear what brought these things into existence; more information and experiments are needed. [ERROR!%&#HELPHELPHELP] should be dealt with with care.

What LRDs Do

[REDACTED]

Dizzy is a new emote.

The core game now has a new emote called “Dizzy.” This emote can be unlocked by [ERROR – REFERENCE MISSING], which is sure to make an Astroneer feel dizzy!

Store: There are now new things to buy!

New Suit: Galastro Suit

New Mask: Mecha Snail

Toasty is a new color palette, and “Greet the Dawn” is a new emote.

It’s time again for hardworking Astroneers to band together for EXO Dynamics in the Fuel Acquisition, Renewal, and Maintenance event! It’s the right time of year to grow sturdysquash, which can then be processed in Cauldrangea plants. Send the items to EXO to get points and prizes.

Find Wild Sturdysquash on Sylva, Calidor, or Atrox that can be picked for their seeds. Use these seeds to grow offspring that yield Samples of Sturdysquash

Each of the planets shown has its own kind of Wild Sturdysquash, which produces a different number of seeds.

You can keep your farms clean by putting Sturdysquash Samples in Medium and Large Resource Canisters.

Find Cauldrangea plants on Sylva, Calidor, or Atrox, but watch out for the dangers that often grow near them! You can make one of three types of biofuel from the Cauldrangeas.

Compass navpoints seem to show that Cauldrangea is close by.

You can talk to Cauldrangea to go through their current biofuel recipe for making fuel.

Each of the featured planets has its own kind of Cauldrangea that grows at a different rate.

Different ingredients can be used to make different kinds of biofuels. The rarer the ingredients, the more valuable the biofuel that is made from them:

15 Points for Squasholine

Samples of Sturdysquash

35 Points for Attapetrol

Samples of Strongsquash and Mutant Spiny Attactus Seeds

50 Points for Noxothane

Sturdysquash Samples + Mutant Elegant Spewflower Seeds

EXO Dynamics thanks people who contribute biofuel by:

The Biofuel Throwback Bundle is worth 800 points.

Contains cosmetics rewarded from previous years:

Say: “Giddyup!”

Hat: ”Honest Living”

“PUM-KN Shelter” is just for looks on the T4 Shelter.

2400 Points – Emote: ”Leaf Leap”

5600 Points – Visor: “Count of Pollen”

8000 Points – Hat: “Galastro Cap”

Along the way, you can pick up useful rewards that will help you harvest better. If you want to keep making biofuels after the event is over, you can get random rewards like QT-RTGs and EXO Chips that come back over and over again.

Changes that make life better

Duplicating items in Creative Mode: When you duplicate an item you’re holding, it will now also copy most items that are slotted to it (except items in input/output slots).

If you hold an item that is snapped into a slot and then copy it, the copy will be snapped into the same slot.

Research Chamber: The Research Chamber will now pull research items from storage without any help from the user. You can still slot valid non-research items, like crafting materials, by hand or with an auto-arm.

As soon as a research operation is done, items can now be put into the Research Chamber (instead of needing to wait for the animation to finish).

Mission/Data Logs: Missions with key items will automatically be tracked.

When a tracked mission is done, any other missions that are unlocked will also be tracked.

When you scroll through the mission or log lists, it will stop at the top or bottom entry instead of going all the way back to the beginning.

When the log opens, if the cursor is already on the details panel when the log opens, the details panel will not get the focus.

(Power) Extenders: ‘Extenders’ have been renamed to ‘Power Extenders’.

Power Extenders can now switch between one-way connections and connections that are part of a network. If you do this, the whole chain of extenders will move.

Wanderer Missions

The mission “Things to Remember” has been changed so that each scannable probe has a clear goal.

The tooltips of probes now have an extra line that shows if they have been scanned or not. This information is kept for each player.

EXO Request Platform: EXO Request Platforms now have an extra screen that shows what items are being asked for and how many points they are worth.

Now, the items that are being asked for are cycled through the icons on its control panel and on the outside of the module.

When you use a gamepad, item tooltips will appear after a short delay when you get close to an item. (Tooltips don’t show up late when you use the cursor to focus on something.)

When an item’s control panel is open, the tooltip won’t show up.

Most small slots now have lower-profile collision volumes, which makes it less likely that the cursor will go to an unintended slot.

When the cursor is over a resource deposit, the tooltip for resource information on the Terrain Tool is more likely to show up.

When hooked up to things that aren’t Rovers, power cables no longer have to be pointed in a certain direction (like platforms).

Sliders in menus will now go up or down more quickly the longer they are moved.

Large structures that look like spaceports and can be found on planets now have landing zones that can be used.
