When Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle was published in 2017, it was a fantastic game that quickly became the best-selling third-party title on the Nintendo Switch.
The sequel, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, will be published this year, and all eyes will be on it. Grant Kirkhope, a BAFTA-nominated composer, will once again be at the helm, and he just talked briefly about how he hopes to produce yet another amazing soundtrack for the amusing forthcoming adventure in a recent interview.
Grant’s goal with Mario + Rabbids is to create “sparks of hope.”
The team is faced with the problem of creating a game that is both respectful of the past and eager to explore new ideas, much as they were with the previous game.
Kirkhope added, “Davide is really eager for it to be both.” “He’s encouraging me and the rest of the team to attempt something new.”
“In terms of music, I’m doing something different from Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, and it’s a difficult process because [Davide] keeps saying, ‘no, no, I want it to be fresh!’ It’s always difficult to give it your all, to attempt to reinvent yourself, and that’s exactly what I’m doing right now.”
“I think I’m a stronger orchestral composer now than I was when I started working on Rabbids: Kingdom Battle.” And I feel like I’m improving. “Are you going to let me know when you hear it?”

“Romain Brillaud and Davide have a fantastic connection,” Kirkhope stated. “Those two men seem like my pals, and we’re friends.” I’m sure we’d argue at some time, but I think we’d always be friends.”
