Jeff Grubb – Metroid Prime 2 & 3 bound to come

Jeff Grubb, a journalist for Venture Beat, has stated once again that both Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will both be re-released on the Nintendo Switch.

Same team doing the job?

This re-release will most likely be handled by the same team that was responsible for the recent release of Metroid Prime Remastered. It is not quite obvious if the vintage games will be handled in the same same manner as Metroid Prime Remastered, but it does seem that they will be cleaned up a little bit. Before the release of Metroid Prime 4, whenever that may be, it seems likely that Nintendo would prefer to have the first three games in the series accessible on the Nintendo Switch family of consoles.

About Metroid Prime 2: Echoes

In this dramatic follow-up to the classic video game Metroid Prime, you will once again assume the role of the alluring bounty hunter Samus Aran.

As you lead Samus through stunning and horrifying new realms of light and evil, the gorgeous graphics and fantastic single-player action of the previous game return. And for the first time in the game’s history, up to four players may engage in combat with one another as they hunt for weapons, grapple across ceilings, and morph into Morph Balls to make their escapes. This marks a first in the history of the series. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes will blow you away.

About Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

If you thought you understood how it felt to be the bounty hunter hiding behind the visor, you should rethink that assumption. Take aim at the forces of darkness with Nintendo’s ground-breaking controller. For the purpose of overcoming the challenges that lie ahead, Samus will rely not just on tried-and-true power-ups like the Grapple Beam and the Morph Ball, but also on a number of novel advantages.

Space Pirates have launched an assault on Base Sector Zero, which is controlled by the Galactic Federation. In order to bring the defense systems back online, Samus has to start the generator. Yet there is something or someone terrible waiting for her at the end of this route.

The conflict that Dark Samus and the Space Pirates started is now raging over a number of worlds, and they are attempting to infect each with Phazon seeds. But, preventing the spread of corruption to other worlds is not enough. At some point, players will need to vanquish Dark Samus, who is Samus’ most dangerous foe.
