Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Free Update – Custom Items Feature

Along with the release of Booster Course Wave 3 for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo also provided a free update for the game.

A new Custom Item feature has been added to the game as part of the update. This feature gives players the ability to choose which things may and cannot spawn from question mark blocks during races. This function is not accessible in any of the available online game modes, and is only used in offline VS races. In the Team Races and Battle game types, players can also utilize this functionality to allocate particular objects to each of their respective teams.

What can you do with Custom items?

Aside from the obvious applications, such as making item contests free of charge or eliminating the despised Blue Shell from the game, this feature paves the way for the implementation of some wackier concepts.

It operates normally in both directions as well. Get rid of those cursed power-ups that you can never use after you’ve achieved first place; they’ll only hold you back forever! It also implies that you can get rid of coins as a reward in the Item Box, which is great news since who else except me despises having to pick up change while they’re trying to grab a Red Shell or a Fire Flower?

Free update

The free update may now be downloaded straight now. It comes at the same time as the debut of the third wave of downloadable content for the premium Booster Course Pass, which adds eight more courses to the game for a total of twenty-four. The whole number of waves will reach 48 by the end of 2023 once another three are added. The Booster Course Pass has an individual price of $24.99, but it is also included with the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, which has an annual cost of $49.99.
