Pokemon Anime Director – We May See Ash Again

Pokemon Anime Director – We May See Ash Again

At the beginning of this year, The Pokémon Company made the announcement that after 25 years of playing the role of the main character in the Pokemon Anime series, Ash will be stepping down from his position.

So it’s till we meet again Ash?

The director of the Pokemon anime, Kunihiko Yuyama, recently highlighted Ash’s departure from the series in an interview that was published in the Japanese publication Otomedia. In addition to disclosing information about upcoming projects, such as the anime special “Far Off Blue Sky” and the limited series “Aim To Be A Pokemon Master,” Yuyama also dropped hints that these may not be the last time we see Ash in the anime by declaring that “we’ll see Ash again somewhere in the future.”

They came up with the concept for the special approximately a year ago to show a day in the life of Satoshi. He basically confirms that it takes place in the same continuity as Movie 20. This information pertains to the “The Far Off Blue Sky” special that aired the previous year. The working title of the special was “Satoshi’s Summer Vacation.”

About the MPM: The journey that Satoshi takes to discover what it means to him to be a “Pokémon Master” in his own life serves as one of the central themes of MPM. They intended to make a greater number of changes to the EDs than they actually did; he hints that “that Pokémon everyone wants to see” would make an appearance at the culmination of the series.
