We already knew that Sony was no longer working on the Sonic movie, but the switch to Paramount has also moved the release of the film.
Originally the Sonic film was announced in 2014 and in early February we heard that the film was planned for 2018.
At the end of last year, however, it became known that the rights for the film were moved from Sony to Paramount. However, almost all people involved in the film continued to work on the film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, however, the film is only to be released in the cinema on 15 November 2019. Little is known of the film itself, except that we know that it is a combination of live-action and CGI.
Are we actually waiting for movies based on our gaming heroes?
Since Mario is going to visit the white screen and Sonic is as well it is starting to raise the question more and more … are we actually waiting for that. In both of these scenarios you have animated cartoon variants that have not done badly. But a film can also have very negative consequences outside the main goal of making a franchise more known to a wider audience, if the movie is not catchy for both the die-hard and laymans,
In addition, we ask ourselves a bit more about what Paramount is going to do with the Sonic film. With Illumination Entertainment + Nintendo you have a good idea of what you can expect. At Paramount, that is still the question.
What do you think, will the Sonic movie be a success?
