Er was nog steeds één awardshow die hun 2020-awards moest uitreiken aan de beste games die vorig jaar werden uitgebracht; De Global Game Industry Awards.

Ze hebben onlangs de winnaars bekendgemaakt voor categorieën met onder meer kunst, audio, design, ondersteuning en meer. Hoewel zowel Microsoft als Sony er in slaagden om prijzen mee naar huis te nemen, won Nintendo helemaal geen prijs.
